All is perfect
No time to write more...but I am here in Rwanda. The kids are amazing. All is well.
Will try to write in a few days. So much to share. Thanks to all who have been helping these children...you just won't believe how they are thriving.

Donna,
Kevin here from CM IT. It sounds like your LCD is out. Usually you can see the image on the screen but barely. Depending on the type of Mac that you have you could try to connect it to an external monitor. Often times, the VGA output will work even though the LCD panel itself does not.

1st, did you try the brightness button on the key board. 2nd try closing and re opening it. Try starting it by holding the power button down. OK you have already tried these things I am sure. Have you tried taking the battery out of the back putting it back in an then restarting it. I did have this problem with my Mac and I just couldn't wake it up. Finally taking out the battery worked. Any chance of locating a monitor you could hook your computer up to. Try just letting it rest for a number of hours and then try it all again. (All this from Mark our tech guy at the studio). He also says that the pictures in the camera should be just fine. He keeps his LCD in the middle. He wonders if your computer monitor was going out and that's why the pictures looked dark on the screen. He says trust the auto settings in the camera. How many cards do you have? If you are still having trouble with this and you want me to contact Apple Care, we could set up a relay thing and try to fix it through them. I would need your Apple Care info. Can you figure out a way to dump images onto Chantals computer and then download to your external drive. Ok really crazy desperate idea, see if there are any Tourists in the hotels with macs that would let you download you cards and then dump to your drives! You never know. Or any business in town or schools, colleges, etc. Good luck! Keep me posted! E
